Making Donations
To Jervis Public Library
A fine library now AND for future generations!
Gifts of private dollars to Jervis Public Library augment public tax dollar support and make the difference between an ordinary library and an extraordinary one.
The library is a 501(c)3 tax exempt non-profit educational institution. Donations are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
Below is a brief summary of ways in which you may help your library remain strong. For more information, please contact the library at (315) 336-4570, write to the Director at 613 North Washington St. Rome, NY, 13440, or inquire by email using our online comment form.
The library accepts the following methods of payment for monetary donations:Many people choose to make donations In Honor Of or In Memory Of family, friends, or others whom they wish to acknowledge in a special way. These gifts memorialize a loved one, or celebrate occasions such as birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, or birth of a child. During the course of each year, the “In Memory Of” and “In Honor Of" programs provide a very welcome and much-needed boost to book, materials, and furnishings budgets, which are ever-diminishing, while at the same time commemorating and honoring people in a unique way. These donations may be made via check, cash, or credit card. (Credit cards accepted only in person or via mail with signature).
Please consider naming the library as a beneficiary in your will or as the beneficiary of the proceeds from a trust or life insurance policy. For these types of bequests, please consult your attorney or tax advisor.
Contributions to meet particular needs outside the library’s budget may be made by consulting the library’s Wish List. View the Wish List online, or request a copy by contacting the library.
General, unrestricted donations are also welcome. These are gratefully received and expended in the area of greatest need as determined by the library’s trustees and administration.
Donations of books and other library materials are appreciated, provided they are in good condition. Items that the library is unable to use in the collection may be shared with other libraries or non-profit organizations, or may be sold to acquire funds to purchase new items for the library’s shelves. Please consult the library’s Materials Donation Policy for details.
Gifts to Jervis Public Library are gratefully received and judiciously expended. With the generosity of library supporters, Jervis will continue to grow in the years ahead, serving as an important asset to the community and surrounding area.
